The Treaty of Madras was a peace agreement signed on 2 April 1769 between Mysore and the British (Lord Verelst) East India Company which brought an end to the First Anglo-Mysore War. Fighting had broken out in 1767 and the forces of Hyder Ali had come close to capturing Madras at one point.

Cripps Proposals 1942. Cripps Mission was sent by the British Government in March 1942 to India with key objective to secure Indian cooperation and support for British War Efforts. Headed by Sir Stafford Cripps, this mission sought to negotiate an agreement with Indian leaders.

On 29 March 1857, a sepoy named Mangal Pandey of Barrackpore Cantonment of the 34th Infantry Regiment, rebelled against the use of greased cartridge and killed an officer Lt Baugh and Lt Jurnal Huron. Mangal Pandey was hanged on 8 April 1857 after a military court decision.

Bara Imambara, also known as Asfi Mosque is an imambara complex in Lucknow, India built by Asaf-ud-Daula, Nawab of Awadh in 1784.

The Indian tricolor flag was unfurled for the first time at Lahore Congress of 1929. It was unfurled at the midnight of 31st December 1929 and 1st January 1930. This was the time set for the deadline of Nehru Committee report.

Immediately after the failure of the 1857 rebellion, the British Crown announced on 1 November 1858, to took the control from Company of all rights to rule India.Lord Canning read this proclamation at a court held in Allahabad. By this declaration the rule of the company in India was abolished and the rule of India was directly under the Crown.

Scindia of Gwalior helped the British most in the freedom struggle of 1857 .
