Train ‘A’ running at a certain speed crosses another train ‘B’ running at a certain speed in the opposite direction in 24 seconds. What is the length of train ‘B’?

    I. The length of both the trains together is 450 meters.
II. Train ’A’ is slower than train ‘B’.
    Solutions
Given that, Train ‘A’ running at a certain speed crosses another train ‘B’ running at a certain speed in the opposite direction in 24 seconds. A train crosses another train running in opposite direction when the whole length of the train crosses the other train.
    From first statement,
Length of both train is given but until we don’t have information about length of Train A or speed of both trains, we cannot calculate length of train B.
Thus, the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
    From second statement,
In this statement, there is no information about speed of trains. So, just the knowledge that, train ’A’ is slower than train ‘B’ is not enough to reach at the solution.
    Combining both statements,
Even on combining both statements, we don’t have enough data to calculate the speed of trains.

In how many days 12 men can finish the work?
(I). 12 boy can do the work in 16 days.
(II). 6 boy and 4 men together can do the job in 16 days.
    Solutions
    From statement 1,
    (12B + 0M) can finish job in 16 days
    From statement 2,
    (6B + 4M) can finish job in 16 days
    From both statements, (12B + 0M) × 16 = (6B + 4M) × 16
    6B = 4M

Now, from question and statement 1,
    12B × 16 =12 M × D
    12 × × 16 = 12 M × D
    D= 32/3 days

    What is the two-digit number?
    I. The difference between the two digits is 3.
II. The sum of the two digits is 4 more than their difference.
    Solutions

Let the tens and unit digits be X and Y respectively.
    Then,
    From statement I, we have: x-y = 3 ...(1)
    From statement II, we have: (x+y) = 3+4 = 7...(2)
    Adding (1) and (2), we get 2x = 10 => x = 5
    Putting x value in (1) or (2), we get: y = 2
Required two digit number is 52.
Here We assumed that tens digit is greater than unit digit. If Unit digit will be greater than tens digit then answer will be 25.
Hence, we can not define the correct answer by using both the statements.

Whose weight of the body is the second highest among the five boys Arun, Vinay, Suraj, Raju, and Prathap?
    I. The average weight of Arun, Suraj and Vinay is 68 kg and the average weight of Raju and Pratap is 72 kg. Also, Suraj is 78 kg, Raju is 68 kg and Vinay is 46 kg.
II. The average weight of Arun, Suraj, Vinay, and Raju is 68 kg and also Suraj is 78 kg, Raju is 68 kg and Vinay is 46 kg. All of them have different weights.
    Solutions
From statement I, Average weight of Arun, Suraj and Vinay =

    Arun + Suraj + Vinay = kg …………(i)
Average weight of Raju and Pratap =
    Raju + Pratap = kg …………(ii)
    According to given information,
    Raju’s weight = 68 kg
    Now, from equation (i),
    Pratap’s weight = 144-68 = 76 kg
    Again, Suraj’s weight = 78 kg
    and Vinay’s weight = 46 kg
    From equation (i), Arun’s weight = 204 – (46+78)
    = 204 – 124
    = 80 kg
Hence, Suraj’s weight is second highest which is 78 kg
From statement II, Average weight of Arun, Suraj, Vinay and Raju =

    Arun + Suraj + Vinay + Raju = kg
    Arun’s weight =
    = kg
But, we cannot find the weight of Pratap as there is no information given about Pratap. Hence, statement II alone is not sufficient.

Now and again a spot of almost boiling (1)/ water will fall on the dust with the (2)/ flop of a frog, but all our weary (3)/ world knew that was only pretence. (4)
    Solutions
    Replace 'will' with 'would'.
'Would' is a past-tense form of will. If we are writing about past events, we can use 'would' to indicate something that was in the future at that point in time, but is not necessarily in the future right now. In other words, we use 'would' to preserve the future aspect when talking about the past.
So, the correct answer is option B.
