• The Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate in the Exercise Desert Flag-VI along with the air forces of the UAE, the US, France, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Bahrain for the first time.

• The exercise was held from March 3 to 21 at the Al-Dhafra airbase in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

• The Exercise Desert Flag is an annual multi-national large force employment warfare exercise hosted by the UAE Air Force.

• The aim of the exercise is to provide operational exposure to the participating forces, while training them to undertake simulated air combat operations in a controlled environment.

• The government approved a pact between India and Fiji for co-operation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.

• The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Agriculture of Indian government and Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Fiji in this regard.

• The MoU between India and Fiji provides for cooperation in various areas including promotion of joint ventures between private sectors of both countries.

• The Haryana Governor has approved a bill that reserves 75 percent of the private sector jobs with gross salary upto ₹ 50,000 per month for the people of the state.

• The bill, tabled by Mr Chautala last year, makes it mandatory for the private sector companies to reserve 75 percent of jobs with salary upto ₹ 50,000 per month for natives of Haryana.

• It also contains a clause companies can invoke if suitable local candidates cannot be found. In such cases they may hire from outside so long as they inform the government of such a step.
