BSSC CGL Notification 2025: Vacancies, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern, Selection Process


The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has released the notification for the 4th Graduate Level Combined Competitive Exam 2025 (Advt. No. 05/25). This recruitment drive aims to fill 1481 graduate-level posts in various Bihar government departments. The posts include Assistant Section Officer, Planning Assistant, Auditor, Data Entry Operator, and others. The online application process will start on 18 August 2025 and end on 19 September 2025. The age limit will be calculated as on 01 August 2025:
- Minimum Age: 21 years (All categories)
- Maximum Age:
- UR (Male): 37 years
- UR (Female), BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years
- SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years
- Divyang (PwD): +10 years relaxation on category-wise upper age
Government employees, ex-servicemen, and others may receive additional relaxations as per the rules.

BSSC CGL Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
The BSSC CGL preliminary examination will be conducted for a total of 600 marks and is qualifying in nature. Candidates can refer to the points and the table to get a detailed exam pattern for the prelims exam.
- There will be a total of 150 questions from General Science & Maths, General Studies, Logical Reasoning/Mental Ability/Comprehension subjects.
- All questions will be objective-type questions.
- Each question carries 4 marks i.e., candidates will get +4 for every correct answer.
- There is a negative marking; 1 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- BSSC CGL exam will be conducted for a total duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

BSSC CGL Mains Exam Pattern 2025
There will be two papers in the BSSC CGL mains examination i.e., Paper I and Paper 2. Each paper will be conducted for 2 hours & 15 minutes. Check the detailed exam pattern mentioned below.
- For both papers, the marks awarded for correct answers are 4.
- Paper 1 will be conducted for a total of 400 marks, and Paper 2 for 600 marks.
- The minimum qualifying mark for the first paper is 30%.
