Who Can Apply For The Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test?

Below is the information regarding the candidates who can apply for this examination. You should go through it to know whether you are eligible or not. 

For MBA (Full Time): A candidate who has passed a recognised bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects, including languages, in all the years/semesters of the degree examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q.E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka candidates.)

For MBA (Part Time):  A candidate who has passed a recognised bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects, including languages, in all the years/semesters of the degree examination is eligible for admission to part-time MBA courses (45% of marks in Q.E. in the case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka candidates.) In addition to this, a candidate, after obtaining the degree, must have worked for not less than three years as of 31st July of that specific year in an establishment and must be working in an organization situated within a radial distance of 40 km from the institution in which the candidate seeks admission.

For MCA: A candidate who has passed any recognised BCA/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree, OR passed B.Sc./B.Com/B.A. with Mathematics at the 10 + 2 level or at the graduation level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned university) and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years/semesters of the degree examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in Q.E. in the case of SC, ST, and Category-I Karnataka candidates. 

  • No part-time courses are offered for MCA. 
  • As per the AICTE Approval Process Handbook-2022 and letter from the Registrar, VTU, Belgaum, dated 11-06-2022, henceforth, there is no lateral entry admission to the MCA course.
