Gandhara School developed in western frontiers of Punjab, near Peshawar and Afghanistan. Mathura School developed during period 1st and 3rd centuries BC on the banks of Yamuna River. It was influenced by all three religions- Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism. Amaravati School flourished on the banks of the Krishna River.

Alai Darwaza in the Qutub Complex is the first example of the real arch and real dome. It was constructed in 1311 AD by Ala-ud-din Khilji.

Sir Thomas Roe (the ambassador of King James I) arrived at Jahangir’s court in the year 1615. He was successful in obtaining two firmans for free trade by 1618.

The Krishna River flows through the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

In the Upper and Middle Ganga plain, two different types of alluvial soils have developed, viz. Khadar and Bhangar.

Khadar is the new alluvium and is deposited by floods annually, which enriches the soil by depositing fine silts. Bhangar represents a system of older alluvium, deposited away from the flood plains.

• In 1967, in Golaknath vs. The State of Punjab, a bench of eleven judges of the Supreme Court deliberated as to whether any part of the Fundamental Rights provisions of the constitution could be revoked or limited by amendment of the constitution.
• In this case, the Court ruled that Parliament could not curtail any of the Fundamental Rights in the Constitution.

A Money Bill can be introduced only in the Lok Sabha. If any question arises whether a bill is a money bill or not, the decision of the speaker thereon is final. The speaker is under no obligation to consult anyone.

• The provisions of Financial Emergency are enshrined under Article 360 of the Constitution.

• This provision provides a safeguard for the Union Government if any threat exists to the financial stability of India.

• There are plants for which flowering is either quantitatively or qualitatively dependent on exposure to low temperature. This phenomenon is termed Vernalisation.

• It prevents precocious reproductive development late in the growing season and enables the plant to have sufficient time to reach maturity.

• Vernalisation refers specially to the promotion of flowering by a period of low temperature.
