  • Question 1/10
    1 / -0.25

    The perimeter of a square is 80m and the length of the rectangle is 25% more than the side of the square and the area of the rectangle is 600m2. Find the sum of the perimeter of the rectangle and circumference of the circle, if the radius of the circle is 2m more than the half of the breadth of the rectangle.

    Solutions

    Answer: A

    Perimeter of a square = 80m

    4a = 80

    a = 20m

    Length of the rectangle =20*125/100 = 25m

    l*b = 600

    25 * b = 600

    b = 24m

    Radius of the circle = 24/2 + 2 = 14m

    Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b) = 2(25+24) = 98m

    Circumference of the circle = 2Πr = 2*22/7*14 = 88m

    Required sum = 98+88 = 186m

  • Question 2/10

    A can complete a work in 32 days, which is 20% less than the time taken by B. The time taken by C to destroy the work is 8 days more than the time taken by B. Find the approximate time taken by all the three persons to complete the work.

    Solutions

    Answer: D

    The time taken by B to complete the work = 32 * 100/80 = 40 days

    The time taken by C to destroy the work = 40 + 8 = 48 days

    Let the total work be 480 units (LCM of 40, 48, 32)

    The efficiency of pipe A = 480/32 = 15 units/day

    The efficiency of pipe B = 480/40 = 12 units/day

    The efficiency of pipe C = 480/48 = 10 units/day

    Required time taken = 480/(15 + 12 – 10) = 480/17 = 28.23 ≈ 28 days

  • Question 3/10

    Train A can cross a pole and a bridge of 450 metres long in 12 seconds and 30 seconds respectively. If the length of the train B is double that of train A, then find the speed of train B, if takes 30 seconds to cross a pole.

    Solutions

    Answer: A

    Let, the length of train A be x metres.

    According to the question,

    x/12 = (x + 450)/30

    30x = 12x + 5400

    18x = 5400

    x = 300

    The length of train B = 300 * 2 = 600m

    The speed of train B = 600/30 = 20 m/s

  • Question 4/10

    The average number of people who visited the theatre in 2021, 2022 and 2023 is 90. If the average number of people who visited the theatre in 2021 and 2022 is 45 and the ratio of the number of males to females who visited the theatre in 2023 is 3:1, then findthe number of males who visited the theatre in 2023.

    Solutions

    Answer: A

    The total number of people who visited the theatre in 2021, 2022 and 2023 = (90 * 3) = 270

    The total number of people who visited the theatre in 2021 and 2022 = 45 * 2 = 90

    The number of people who visited the theatre in 2023 =270- 90 =180

    The number of males who visited the theatre in 2023 = 180 * 3/4 = 135

  • Question 5/10
    1 / -0.25

    The total number of students in classes P and Q is 10% less and 30% more than that of class R. If the total number of students in classes P and Q is increased by 30 and 20 respectively, then the ratio of the total number of students in class P to class Q is 4:5. Find the total number of students in class R?

    Solutions

    Answer: B

    Let the total number of students in class R = 10x

    And the total number of students in class P = 10x * (100 – 10)/100 = 10x * 90/100 = 9x

    And the total number of students in class Q = 10x * 130/100 = 13x

    According to question,

    (9x + 30)/(13x + 20) = 4/5

    45x + 150 = 52x + 80

    7x = 70

    x = 10

    Therefore, total number of students in class R = 10 * 10 = 100

  • Question 6/10

    What value should come in the place of (?) in the following number series?

    1900, 2156, ?, 2232, 1748, 2324

    Solutions

    Answer: A

    1900 + 256(162) = 2156

    2156 – 324(182) = 1832

    1832 + 400(202) = 2232

    2232 – 484(222) = 1748

    1748 + 576(242) = 2324

  • Question 7/10

    What value should come in the place of (?) in the following number series?

    232, 116, 348, ?, 435, 72.5

    Solutions

    Answer: C

    232/2 = 116

    116 * 3 = 348

    348/4 = 87

    87 * 5 = 435

    435/6 = 72.5

    What value should come in the place of (?) in the following number series?

    1280, 1240, 1160, 1040, 880, ?

    Solutions

    Answer: B

    1280 – 40 = 1240

    1240 – 80 = 1160

    1160 – 120 = 1040

    1040 – 160 = 880

    880 – 200 = 680
