NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission, has selected additional 1500 Schools for the establishment of Atal Tinkering Labs. Atal Innovation Mission is the government's programme to promote innovation & entrepreneurship nationwide in schools, universities & industry. They are innovation play workspaces for students between Grade VI to Grade XII, stimulating innovations combining science & tech.

The winner of the Miss Supermodel Worldwide 2018 held in Gurugram, India was Aleksandra Liashkova from Belarus.

The four runner-ups in this event were:

• Ekaterina Evdokimova of Russia was crowned1st runner-up,
• Zarina Andirjanova from Uzbekistan was crowned 2nd runner-up,
• Chantarachota Paphattanun from Thailand was crowned the 3rd runner-up and
• Helina Tilahun Bikis from Ethiopia was awarded 4th runner-up title. 

Shweta Parmar from India was awarded Miss Congeniality.

• Four unnamed Himalayan peaks near Gangotri glacier have been named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• The peaks are located at 6,557, 6,566, 6,160 and 6,100 metres on the right flank of Gangotri glacier.
• Located near Sudarshan and Saifi peaks in Raktvan valley, the peaks have been named Atal-1, 2, 3 and 4.

• Sarod master, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was presented the 'Sumitra Charat Ram Award for Lifetime Achievement' on 17 November 2018.
• He was awarded for his immense contribution to the enrichment and promotion of the Indian classical music.
• The award was presented to him by former diplomat Lalit Mansingh.
• He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2001.

Dronacharya Award is given every year by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to coaches from different sports.
