Gujarati poet Sitanshu Yashaschandra was selected for the 27^th Saraswati Samman 2017 for his collection of verses titled “Vakhar” published in 2009. The Saraswati Samman was instituted in 1991 by the K. K. Birla Foundation. It is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any of the 22 Indian languages listed in the VIII Schedule of the Constitution of India.
