According to Article 129 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court will be the Court of Record. Court of record

(i) The decisions of the Supreme Court are kept as evidence and are binding on all courts in India and
(ii) The court has the right to punish for its contempt.

As per Article-126 of the Constitution, when the post of the Chief Justice is vacant or the Chief Justice is unable to perform his duties due to absence or any other reason, the President shall appoint any of the other judges of the Supreme Court as acting Chief Justice .

According to Article-124 (1) of the Constitution, the power to increase the number of judges in the Supreme Court is vested in the Parliament. The original constitution provided for one Chief Justice and seven other judges for the Supreme Court. At present, the Supreme Court has 35 judges including the Chief Justice.

According to Article 137 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court is empowered to review its judgments or orders.

The provision of Court of Record has been provided in Article-129 of the Constitution of the Supreme Court and the High Court under Article-215.

According to Article 122 of the Constitution, a provision has been made,that Courts not to investigate the proceedings of Parliament.

The provision of Judicial Review is taken from the Constitution of America in the Indian Constitution. In the Indian Constitution, it is not directly but indirectly contained in Article-13.

Judicial activism means that, when the judiciary transcends its judicial role and interferes with the role of executive or legislature, it is called Judicial Activism. The source of judicial activism in India is not the constitution but it is related to public interest litigation.

According to Article-75 (1) of the Indian Constitution, the Prime Minister will be appointed by the President and other ministers will be appointed on the advice of the Prime Minister by the President.Whereas according to Article-75 (2), the Union Minister holds the office on the pleasure of president.

The Finance Commission is constituted by the President under Article 280 of the Constitution, primarily to give its recommendations on the distribution of tax revenue between the Union and the States and among the States.
