Tel is a tributary of Mahanadi river not Krishna river. Major tributaries of Krishna river are - Koyna, Yerala, Dina, Varna,. Panch Ganga, Ghat Prabha, Bhima, and Tungabhadra.

Hagari river originates in the western ghats and flows through Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to join Tungabhadra. It is also known as Vedavathi. Veda and Avathi rivers originate at Sahyadri; join each other at Pura and known as Vedavathi.
