Each question contains two quantities as Quantity I and Quantity II. Read the contents clearly and answer your questions accordingly.
Quantity I:2 men or 3 women can do the piece of the work in 30 days. In how many days 8 men and 8 women together can complete the work?
Quantity II: A and B can do the piece of work in 24 days and 20 days respectively. They started to work together, after 2 days B left the work C joined with A and the total work completed in 6 days. In how many days C alone complete the work?

From quantity I,
2m=3w
8m=12w
3 * 30=20 * ?
?=4.5 days.
From quantity II,
A=1/24
B=1/20
1/24 + 2/20 + 1/x=1/6
1/x=1/6 – 1/24 – 1/10
1/x=20 – 5 – 12/120=3/120=1/40

Quantity I:A and B started the business with invests Rs.x and Rs.1000 respectively and after 6 months B left the business. At the end of one year the profit share of A and B in the ratio of 2:1, find the value of x?
Quantity II: Renu sells the article at the profit of 25%. If he bought it at 20% less and sold for Rs.210 less, he have the profit of 30%. Find the cost price of the article?
X * 12:1000 * 6 =2/1
12x=12000
X=1000
CP=x
SP=x * 125/100=5x/4
If CP=x * 80/100=4x/5
SP=4x/5 * 130/100=26x/25
5x/4 – 26x/25=210
125x – 104x=21000
21x=21000
X=Rs.1000

Quantity I: The sum of the downstream and upstream speed is 28 kmph and the downstream covers 40 km in 2 hours. Find the speed of the stream?
Quantity II: If the boat travels 60 km downstream in 3 hours and the boat travels 72km upstream in 18 hours, then find the speed of the stream?
Boat in still water=28/2=14 kmph
Downstream speed=40/2=20 kmph
stream speed=20 – 14=6 kmph
Downstream speed=60/3=20 kmph
Upstream speed=72/18=4 kmph
Speed of stream=20 – 4/2=16/2=8 kmph

Quantity I:6 years ago A’s age half of B’s age. If the ratio of the present ages of A to B is 4:7, then what is A’s age after 6 years?
Quantity II: The ratio of the present ages of A, B and C is 6:5:8 and product of the ages of A and C is 1728. Find the present age of B?
4x – 6/7x – 6=1/2
7x – 6=8x – 12
X=18 years
After 6 years A’s age=18 + 12=30 years
6x * 8x=1728
X=6
B’s age=6 * 5=30 years

Quantity I:If the ratio of the length and breadth of the rectangle is 3:1 and the perimeter of the rectangle is equal to the perimeter of the square whose side is 14 cm. Find the area of the rectangle?
Quantity II: If the circumference of the circle is 44 cm, find the area of the circle?
14 * 4=2 * (4x)
X=7 cm
Area of the rectangle=3 * 7 * 7=147 cm
44 = 2 * 22/7 * r
Radius of the circle=7 cm
Area of the circle=22/7 * 7 * 7=154 cm
A shopkeeper sold a table and chair in Rs.4000 and Rs.2400 respectively at the profit of 25% and 20% respectively. If he sold the table and chair in Rs.4900 and Rs.x respectively and he got the whole profit is 20%, then find the value of x?
CP of table=4000 * 100/125=3200
CP of chair=2400 * 100/120=2000
Whole profit is 20%, SP=5200 * 120/100=6240
X=6240-4900=1340\
A milkman has 60 liters of milk and water in the ratio of 7:5 and he added x liters of milk and 15 liters of water in the mixture. Now the result of the milk and water in the ratio of 5:4, then find the value of x?
Milk=7/12 * 60=35 liters
Water=5/12 * 60=25 liters
35 + x/25 + 15=5/4
4 * (35 + x)=200
4x=60
X=15 liters
A bag contains 4 red balls, 3 blue balls and 5 green balls. Two balls are drawn at random. What is the probability that both the balls are red?
Required probability=4C2/12C2=1/11
A, B and C started the business with the investment of 2:3:4 and after 6 months B and A added Rs.2000 and Rs.3000 for his initial investment respectively. At the end of one year the total profits is Rs.4400, and then find the profit share of C?
Profit share of A, B, C=(2x * 6 + (2x + 3000) * 6): (3x * 6 + (3x + 2000)*6):4x * 12
=(24x + 18000):(36x + 12000):48x
C’s share=48x/(108x + 30000) * 4400

Pipe A fill the tank in (x – 16) hours and pipe B empty the tank in (x – 12) hours. If pipe A and B together can fill the tank in x hours, then find the value of x?
1/(x – 16) – 1/(x – 12)=1/x
(X – 12) – (x – 16)/(x – 16) (x – 12)=1/x
4x=x2 – 12x – 16x + 192
x2 –32x + 192=0
x2 – 24x – 8x + 192=0
x(x – 24) – 8(x – 24)=0
(x – 8) (x – 24)=0
X=8, 24
If x=8 means we get the negative values so it eliminated.
X=24 hours
