    Total number of people in 2013 is 1500. Then find the total number of employees who work in end of 2011?

    Solutions

    Total number people who joined all 3 years = 450

    Joined person 2010 + joined person of 2011 + joined person of 2012 = 450

    Ratio between joined person of 2010 and 2011 = 3: 4

    So, 3x + 4x + 100 = 450

    7x = 350, x = 50

    People joined in 2010 and 2011 = 150, 200

    People left in 2010 = ratio of who joined in 2010 and left in 2010 = 3 : 1

    So, (150/3) × 1= 50

    People left in 2011 = 200 × 37.5 % = 75

    Total number of people left the company = 50 + 75 + 25 = 150

    Employees in 2011 end = who works in 2011 end + who joined in 2012 – who left in 2012 = 1500

    x + 100 – 25 = 1500

    x = 1425

    Solutions

    Total number people who joined all 3 years = 450

    Joined person 2010 + joined person of 2011 + joined person of 2012 = 450

    Ratio between joined person of 2010 and 2011 = 3: 4

    So, 3x + 4x + 100 = 450

    So, (150/3) × 1= 50

    People left in 2011 = 200 × 37.5 % = 75

    Total number of people left the company = 50 + 75 + 25 = 150

    Employees working in 2011 end = 1000 + (who joined in 2010 – who left in 2010) + (who joined in 2011 - who left in 2011)

    = 1000 + (150 – 50) + (200 -75)

    = 1225

    Ratio between employee working in 2011 end: who left all 3 years = 1225: 150 = 49: 6

    Total number of people left the company = 50 + 75 + 25 = 150

    Employees in 2011 end = 1500 + (200 – 75) = 1625

    Office assistant = 20% of 1625 = 325

    Office assistant salary = 325 × 10000 = 3250000

    Officers = 40% 1625 = 650

    Officers salary = 650 × 15000 = 975000

  • Question 6/10

    A chair making company x, and their employees are A, B, C, and D. and their efficiency in the ratio 7: 8: 10: 6. They start to make 775 chairs. The company x can fixed manufacturing cost Rs 240 for one chair with 20% profit. Production cost and employee’s salary per chair is in the ratio 5: 3. Then find person C’s total salary?

    Solutions

    MRP without profit = (240/100) × 80 = 200

    Production cost and salary = 5: 3 = 200/8 * 5: 200/8 * 3 = 125: 75

    Total chair manufactured by C = (775/31) × 10 = 250

    Salary of C = 250 × 75 = Rs 18750

  • Question 7/10
    1 / -0

    A boat goes 40 km upstream and comes back in 25 hrs. If still water speed is 5 km/hr. Find the difference of time if boat goes 48km downstream and 24 km upstream?

    Solutions

    40/(5 + x) + 40/(5 – x) = 25

    x = 3

    So 24/(5 – 3) – 48/( 5 + 3) = 12 - 6 = 6 hrs

  • Question 8/10

    Train A and train B travels from Delhi to Lucknow and Lucknow to Delhi respectively. Distance between these 2 places is 450 km. speed of two trains is 50km/hr and 80km/hr respectively. Train B started after 2 hrs of train A. train A increasing its speed by 10km every 2 hrs and train B reduced 10 km/hr by every hour. Find the time taken by A to meet B.

    Solutions

    Train A started 2 hrs before B so it will travel 100 km

    Distance between Train A and Train B now = 450 – 100 = 350 km

    Train A increased speed 10km in 2 hrs so speed of Train B

    1st hr = 60 + 80 = 140km so balance 210 km

    2nd hr = 60 + 70 = 130 km balance 80

    = 70 + 60 = 130 so

    80/130 = 8/13

    Total hrs = 4 8/13 hrs

  • Question 9/10

    Company A’s total employees average salary is Rs 16000. Officers average salary is Rs10000 and office assistant average salary is Rs 20000. Number of officers is 5 less than the office assistant then find the total number of employees in the company A?

    Solutions

    x × 10000 + (x + 5) × 20000 = (2x + 5) × 16000

    So x = 10

    Total number of employees = 2x + 5 = 25
