• Hyderabad based energy solution provider, Greenko Energies Private Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) to explore renewable energy power supply solution and energy storage.

• This comes under the framework of India’s World largest clean energy programme, a part of global climate change commitments, which aims to have 175 GW of clean energy by 2022.

• NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC limited.

• As of now, National Recruitment Agency (NRA) which has been approved by the union cabinet will be conducting common online entry stage examination for Staff Selection Board (SSC), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) and Railway Recruitment Boards.

• The common online examination will be known as CET (Common Eligibility Test).

• Minister of State (Independent Charges) for Labour and Employment, Santosh Gangwar has launched official Logo of ‘Labour Bureau’.

• The new logo of Labour Bureau comprises of Blue wheel (representing work); a tricolored Graph (same colour as our national flag), along with wheat ears (signifying rural agricultural labour).

• It represents Labour Bureau as a data based organization dealing in data related to workers and work.

• Labour Bureau is a Apex National Level organization under Ministry of Labour and Employment

• Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched a mobile application named ‘MY IAF’ to provide career-related information and details to the aspirants who wish to join the Indian Air Force (IAF).

• The application was launched by the Chief of the Air Staff, Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria.

• The app launched as a part of the Digital India initiative has been developed in association with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).

• The app serves as a single digital platform where users can find the details of the selection procedure, training curriculum, pay and perks etc for both officers and airmen in the IAF.

• The app provides glimpses into the history and stories of valour in the IAF.

• Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 45 highway projects in Madhya Pradesh (MP) during a virtual event.

• He also announced that Rs.700 crore from the Central Road Fund (CRF) will be utilised for the road sector of Madhya Pradesh.

• The aim was to complete projects worth Rs 50,000 crore out of Rs 1.25 lakh crore by 2023.

• The inaugurated project consists of a road length of around 1361 kilometers(km) with a construction cost of Rs.11427 crore.

• Union Minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari has launched a mobile app named ‘Harit Path’ to monitor plantation along national highways.

• Under this initiative, the NHAI planted over 25 lakh plants in 25 days along the stretches of the national highways between July 21 and August 15, 2020.

• The minister launched ‘Harit Path’, a mobile app to monitor the plantations through geo-tagging and web-based GIS-enabled monitoring tools.

• The GPS-based app has been developed by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Road and Transport.

• The app helps to monitor location, growth, species details, maintenance activities, targets and achievements of each of its field units for each and every plant under all plantation projects.

• The Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has signed a loan agreement for a $500 million Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III.

• The aim of the project is to improve the network capacity, service quality and safety of the suburban railway system in Mumbai.

• With a population of 22.8 million (2011), Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is the most populous metropolitan region in India and is expected to reach 29.3 million by 2031 and 32.1 million by 2041.

• ReNew Power and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) signed a partnership agreement to promote increased access to renewable energy and improved energy efficiency.

• This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a part of progressive strategies that India has adopted to realise its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) under the Paris Agreement.

• The aim is to shift the heating and cooling sector to an energy efficient one.

• In accordance with MoU, ReNew Power will join hands with UNEP’s District Energy in Cities Initiative as an implementation partner for renewable energy installations across India.

• Information Technology services major Tech Mahindra joined hands with NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) to support Indian women entrepreneurs.

• In this regard, Tech Mahindra has partnered with the winners of Women Transforming India (WTI) Awards, to provide mentorship.

• WTI awards is an initiative of the WEP to recognise women leaders in entrepreneurship across various sectors like healthcare and life sciences, agritech and education, among others.

• Also, Tech Mahindra’s research and development arm, Makers Lab, will support women entrepreneurs through joint research, building go-to-market strategies to drive their growth.

• ISRO has signed an MoU with Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) to set up VSSUT Space Innovation Centre (VSSSIC) to promote space research.

• Under the MoU ISRO and VSSUT will collaborate to develop high-end simulation tools, miniature test facilities like Static test facility and solid propulsion research lab and establishment of testing facilities for the scaled-down model.

• ISRO will offer technical consultancy support and financial assistance of Rs.50 lakhs for the development of infrastructure of VSSUT.
