    The largest number amongst the following that will perfectly divide  101100 − 1 is:

    Solutions

    The easiest way to solve such problems for objective exam purposes is trial and error or by back

    Substituting answers in the choices given.

    101= 10,201

    101− 1 = 10,200.

    This is divisible by 100.

    Similarly try for  101− 1 = 1,030,301−1 = 1,030,300.

    So you can safely conclude that (101− 1) to (101− 1) will be divisible by 100.

    (10110 − 1) to (10199 − 1) will be divisible by 1000.

    Therefore,  (101100 − 1) will be divisible by 10,000.

    When a current passes through the junction of two different metals, evolution or absorption of heat at the junction is known as-

    Solutions

    The Peltier effect is the presence of heating or cooling at an electrified junction of two different conductors and is named after French physicist Jean Charles Athanase Peltier, who discovered it in 1834. When a current is made to flow through a junction between two conductors, A and B, heat may be generated or removed at the junction. The Peltier heat generated at the junction per unit time is
    Q = (π− πB)I
    where πA and πB are the Peltier coefficients of conductors A and B, and is the electric current (from A to B).

    When 359 is divided by a certain divisor the remainder obtained is 7. When 657 is divided by the same divisor the remainder obtained is 8. However, when the sum of the two numbers 359 and 657 is divided by the divisor, the remainder obtained is 4. What is the value of the divisor?

    Solutions

    Let the divisor be d.
    When 359 is divided by the divisor, let the quotient be 'x' and we know that the remainder is 7.
    Therefore, 359 = xd + 7
    Similarly, let y be the quotient when 657 is divided by d.
    Then, 657 = yd + 8.
    359 + 657 = xd + yd + 7 + 8
    1016 = xd + yd + 15
    As xd and yd are divisible by d, the remainder when 1016 is divided by d should have been 15.
    However, as the question states that the remainder is 4, it would be possible only when 15/d leaves a remainder of 4.
    If the remainder obtained is 4 when 15 is divided by d, then d has to be 11

    If  '+' means  ′÷′ ,'-' means 'x', ′÷′  means '+','x' and '-' then

    36 x 12 + 4 ÷ 6 + 2 - 3 = ?

    Solutions

    36 × 12 + 4 ÷ 6 + 2 - 3
    After replacing signs,
    36 - 12 ÷ 4 + 6 ÷ 2 × 3
    ⇒ 36 − 12/4 + 6/2 × 3
    ⇒ 36 - 3 + 3 x 3
    ⇒  45 - 3
    ⇒ 42

    In the following question, four groups of three numbers are given. In each group the second and third number are related to the first number by a Logic/Rule/Relation. Three are similar on basis of same Logic/Rule/Relation. Select the odd one out from the given alternatives.

    Solutions

    The Pattern is as follows:-
    15×3=45, 45+15+1=61
    13×3=39, 39+13+1=53
    12×3=36, 36+12+1=49
    But,
    14×3=42, 42+14+1=57 ≠ 59
