• Hailey National Park, the first national park of India was established in 1936 to protect the endangered Bengal Tiger.
• It is also known as Jim Corbett National Park.
• It is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand and was named after Jim Corbett.

* It was the state animal of earlier Jammu and Kashmir State.

* The IUCN’s Red List has classified it as Critically Endangered.

• Silent Valley National Park is in Kerala. It is in Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and River Kunthi passes through it.

• Major Fauna found here are- lion-tailed macaque, tiger, gaur, leopard, wild boar, panther, Indian Civet and Sambhar.

● Sariska Tiger Reserve is a tiger reserve in Alwar district, Rajasthan. It stretches over an area of 881 km² comprising scrub-thorn arid forests, dry deciduous forests, grasslands, and rocky hills.

● This area was a hunting preserve of the Alwar and was declared a wildlife reserve in 1955.

● It was given the status of a tiger reserve making it a part of India's Project Tiger in 1978. The wildlife sanctuary was declared a national park in 1990,

● It is the first reserve in the world with successfully relocated tigers.

● Namdapha National Park is a 1,985 km² large protected area in Arunachal Pradesh of Northeast India.

● With more than 1,000 floral and about 1,400 faunal species, it is a biodiversity hotspot in the Eastern Himalayas.

● The national park harbours the northernmost lowland evergreen rainforests in the world at 27°N latitude.

• Navegaon National Park is in Maharashtra. It was earlier a Bird Sanctuary.

• The vertebrate fauna includes 209 species of birds, 9 species of reptiles and 26 species of mammals found here.

• Tiger, Panther, Jungle cat, Small India Civet, Palm Civet, Wolf, Jackals, Bisons, Sambars, Nilgais, Chitals etc found here.

Sultanpur National Park is in Haryana.

• It was declared a Bird Sanctuary in 1971 and a National Park in 1991. It was a bird Sanctuary & over 250 species of birds have been sighted at this protected area.

• Siberian crane, greater flamingo, ruff, black-winged stilt, Eurasian teal, common greenshank, northern pintail, yellow wagtail etc are major migratory birds found here.

• Snow Leopard is found in Gangotri National Park. Gangotri National Park is in Uttarakhand.

• Snow leopard, ibex, tahr, bharal, Himalayan snowcock and Himalayan monal are major endangered species found in this National Park.

• Snow Leopard is also spotted in Namdapha national park, Great Himalayan National Park, and Hemis National Park. It is listed as Vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature list.

• Campbell bay National Park is in Andaman and Nicobar.

• It was gazetted as national park of India in 1992.

• The park is haven for the giant robber crabs.

• Wild ass sanctuary is situated in Gujrat. 
• It spreads over 4954 km², it is the largest wildlife sanctuary in India.

• The Valley of flowers national park is located at Uttarakhand.
