The major characteristics of Censure motion are as follows:

• It is passed in Lok Sabha.

• It can be moved against an individual minister or a group of ministers or the entire council of ministers.

• It should state the reason for its adoption.

• If passed, the council of minister need not resign.

In case of the passing of this motion, the government has to seek the confidence of the house, immediately after it is passed in the house.

A member of parliament can raise Point of Order in case of non compliance of normal rule of procedure.

• It aims at implementation of the Rules of the House which regulate the business of the House.

• It is generally raised by an Opposition member to target ruling party.

• In case of raise of point of order, all the proceedings and debates are suspended.
