    1 / -0.25

Select the option figure contains figure X embedded in its part (rotation is NOT allowed).

    Solutions

The option figure contains figure X embedded in its part when rotation is NOT allowed is shown below:

Hence, 'option 2' is the correct answer.

  • Question 2/10
    1 / -0.25

The respective ages of Golu and Monu are in the ratio 9:5 and the sum of their ages is 84 years. What will be the ratio of their age after 8 years?

    Solutions

    According to the question,

    Let

The present age of Golu → 9x

    and,

The present age of Monu → 5x

The sum of their ages = 84 (given)

    ⇒ 9x + 5x = 84

    ⇒ 14x = 84

    ⇒ x = 84 ÷ 14

    ⇒ x = 6

Now, the present of age of:

    Golu = 9 × 6 = 54

    Monu = 5 × 6 = 30

    After 8 years,

    Age of Golu = 54 + 8 = 62

    Age of Monu = 30 + 8 = 38

⇒ Ratio of age of Golu an Monu after 8 years = 31 : 19

Hence, 31 : 19 is the correct answer.

  • Question 3/10

What was the day of the week on 22 February 2012?

    Solutions

    Note: Multiple of 400 years i.e. 800, 1200, 1600, 2000 have 0 odd days.

Calculating leap year: For Finding the number of leap year (1 - 99) years, divide the number of years by 4 and the quotient will be the number of leap years.

    Code for weekdays:

2012 = we find out the odd days (the nearest leap century year + the nearest century year + completing year) = 2000 + 11 year + year 2012

    • In 2000 year the odd days = 0
    • In 11 years, odd days = 2 leap year & 8 normal year
    • 2 leap year = 4 odd day
    • 9 normal year = 9 odd day = 2 odd days
    • Odd days in 1 January to 22 February:
    • In 2012, the number of days up to 22 February = 31 (Jan) + 22 (Feb) = 53 / 7 = 4 odd days.
    • Total = 0 + 4 + 2 + 4 = 10 days = 3 odd day
    • 3 is the code for Wednesday.

Hence, Wednesday is the correct answer.

  • Question 5/10

B's mother is the daughter of F. C is the son of F and D. G is the son of C and E. D is the mother of R. How is F related to G?

    Solutions

    Family chart:-

    Family Tree:

    1) C is the son of F and D and G is the son of C and E.

    2) D is the mother of R and B's mother is the daughter of F.

∴ Here, 'F' is paternal grandfather of 'G' and paternal grandfather = father's father.

Hence, the correct answer is "Father's father".

  • Question 9/10

If the given figure is folded to form a cube, which number will be opposite '5'?

    Solutions

    CONCEPT :

Types of figure generally given in the exams.

The clearly seen alternate position of the open dice becomes the opposite pair after folding and the two remaining faces also become opposite to each other.

    Here, In every figure:

    A is opposite to C.

    B is opposite to D.

Thus the remaining, E is opposite to F.

    Important Points

The opposite pair of faces will never appear in the adjacent position of a dice.

    EXPLANATION:

The alternate position of faces becomes opposite to each other, as shown below:

    The opposite pairs are (1, 3), (2, 4) and the remaining ( 5, 6).

The face opposite to the face having the number 5 is 6.

    CONCLUSION :

Hence, option 3 is the correct answer.
