Criteria Of Eligibility For The COMEDK UGET
Here are some important points related to the COMEDK eligibility criteria for the courses that you must be aware of. The UGET admission test is open to candidates who are Indian citizens, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO). However, before applying for the exam, holders of OCI and PIO cards must receive an eligibility certificate from the affiliated university (Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi).
For UG Engineering Courses
- Second PUC, 10+2 Higher Secondary, or an equivalent exam approved by the State or Central Government, are the qualifying exams required for admission to B.E./B.Tech programs. The final two years of study will consist of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a required subject.
- The General Merit candidates must have completed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum aggregate score of 45% (40% for Karnataka State's SC, ST, and OBC candidates). They must also have passed each of these subjects separately. Chemistry, biotechnology, biology, computer science, and electronics are optional disciplines, whereas physics and mathematics are required. However, any modifications made by the AICTE/VTU to the eligibility requirements will be implemented.
- To be included in the rank list, a COMEDK Entrance Test attempt is considered sufficient for admission to engineering programs. However, no rank will be given to a candidate who received a "0" (Zero) mark.
- Since there are no lateral entry admissions, diploma students are ineligible to sit the entrance exam.
For UG Architecture Courses
- Second PUC or 10+2 is the required qualifying exam for admission to the B. Arch course.
- Candidates must have passed an exam at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (45% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka), as well as at least 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 level examination (45% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka).
- For admission to the B.Arch program, all students (including SC, ST, and OBC candidates from Karnataka) must pass the architecture aptitude test administered by either the Council of Architecture's NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) or NTA (i.e., JEE). In order to be eligible for NATA, a candidate must receive at least the cut-off scores in two separate components as well as the minimum qualifying score overall. To be eligible for admission to the B. Arch program, candidates who have completed any other architecture aptitude test administered by other agencies must also pass the NATA or JEE. Only JEE or NATA scores will be taken into account while creating the merit list, together with the results of the qualifying exam.
- COMEDK will not administer an entrance exam to applicants for admission to the B. Arch program.
- In accordance with the announcement on the COMEDK website (which will be made accessible prior to counseling), candidates applying for admission to the B. Arch program must submit a separate application form for counseling.
- Candidates who are solely interested in architecture courses do not need to complete the online application for the engineering entrance exam.
Note: Regardless of the aforementioned eligibility requirements, any modifications made by AICTE, VTU, the Council of Architecture (COA), or any other relevant regulatory bodies prior to the commencement of the COMEDK rank creation process would be accepted mutatis mutandis. The previously established eligibility requirements won't be altered after the ranks are generated. Only candidates who meet the requirements of AICTE and VTU for admission to undergraduate programs will receive a rank card.
