Essential Academic Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited university in any field or any comparable degree accepted by the central government. Selection Procedure For The SBI PO Exam

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

Penalty for Wrong Answers In Prelims and Mains

In objective tests, incorrect responses will result in penalties. To determine the corrected score, one-fourth of the marks allotted to each question will be deducted as a penalty for each incorrect response provided by the candidate. There won't be any consequences for a question that is left blank.

Selection Criteria for Phase III

1. A) Sectional Cut Off in Main Examination

•  For the Main Exam, each candidate must receive a minimum score on each exam (i.e., exam I, II, III, IV, and the descriptive paper separately).
• Sectional cutoffs will be determined based on the quantity of open positions.

1. B) Minimum Aggregate Qualifying Score: The total points earned in the Main Exam will be used to create a category-wise merit list. Candidates at the top of the category-wise merit list who have applied for up to three times (approximately) as many category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III, provided they meet the Bank's minimum aggregate qualifying score.

Phase III: Psychometric Test

1. a) In phase III, there will be a psychometric test conducted by the bank for personality profiling of the shortlisted candidates. Findings of this test will be placed in front of the interview panel for a thorough perspective on the candidate. 

The Bank will determine the minimum qualifying scores.

FINAL SELECTION: Candidates must meet the requirements for Phase II and Phase III individually. To create the final merit list, the scores from the Objective and Descriptive tests in the Main Examination (Phase-II) will be combined with the scores from Phase-III. The final merit list for selection will not be prepared using the scores earned in the Preliminary Examination (Phase I). Phase-III (Group Exercise & Interview) and Phase-II (Main Examination, both Objective & Descriptive Tests) will normalise the candidates' scores to 100, as explained below.
