How To Learn From Your Mistakes In The XAT Previous Year Papers Online Test?

Learning from mistakes that you made in the XAT previous year papers online is not just about correcting your wrong answers. It is about building patterns of awareness, eliminating blind spots, as well as training your brain to respond under pressure. In this section, we have mentioned some powerful techniques to enhance your practice sessions.

XAT previous year papers online test

  • Firstly, you should maintain a digital or physical logbook that is specifically for the mistakes. After every XAT previous year question paper online test, you should enter every mistake under categories that are defined clearly. These categories can be conceptual errors, application errors, strategy errors, guessing errors, careless mistakes, and so on. By doing so, you can train your brain to notice patterns in your mistakes and prevent repeating them.
  • After noting your mistake in the XAT previous year papers, you should go a level deeper and find the root cause for it. These can be lack of revision, panic under time pressure, misjudged difficulty level, overconfidence, misinterpretation of question type, etc.
  • Rather than revising the topics randomly, you should build a mistake-driven revision plan. In this, you can allocate more time to concepts that are linked with more errors, and reattempt 2 to 3 questions from past mistakes every day. Also, you need to make sure that you revise the theory part related to the mistake and not just the explanation of the question.
  • A number of mistakes are not conceptual but because of the mismanagement of time. So, you should use the analytics of our platform to mark the questions where you spent too long as well as mark easy questions that you didn’t attempt in the XAT PYQs. Then, you should ask yourself was a mistake due to time pressure or lack of time strategy.
  • Not all mistakes are equal, so, after the review of the XAT previous year question paper, you should classify between fixable (Lack of clarity, missed concept, calculation slip, time misjudgment) and unfixable (Wild guess, topic not studied, ambiguity in question) mistakes. Now, you must focus 80% of your energy on the fixable ones. You need to accept that some mistakes are just part of a high-pressure exam environment.
