The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official notification for the Recruitment of Officers in Grade A and B for the year 2025. The online application process began on July 11, 2025, and the last date to apply is July 31, 2025. All interested candidates can now check the full notification on RBI’s official website: www.rbi.org.in. Post-Wise Vacancies & Qualifications

  • Legal Officer (Grade B): 21 to 32 years
    (3 years relaxation for LLM, 5 years for PhD)

  • Manager (Civil/Electrical): 21 to 35 years

  • Rajbhasha AM: 21 to 30 years (32 for PhD holders)

  • Protocol & Security AM: 25 to 40 years

Note: Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.

Selection Process

Each post has a different selection process:

  • Legal Officer: Objective Test + Descriptive Test + Interview

  • Manager (Civil/Electrical): Objective + Descriptive + Interview

  • Rajbhasha AM: Objective + Descriptive + Interview

  • Protocol & Security AM: Online Test + Interview

Exam Pattern

The RBI Grade A and B 2025 Exam Pattern for all the posts will be different. Candidates must check the exam pattern for the post they will be applying for. Here's a detailed breakdown of the exam pattern:

RBI Legal Officer Exam Pattern 2025 

Paper 1 will be on General Knowledge of Law for a total of 150 marks. Paper 2 will be on English for a total of 100 marks.

RBI Manager (Technical-Civil) Exam Pattern 2025 

There are 2 papers for the Examination. Paper I Objective Type, and Paper II will be a descriptive type.

RBI Manager (Technical-Electrical) Exam Pattern 2025 

In Paper I, there will be negative marking of 1/4th of the marks for every wrong answer. Paper I will only of such candidates who appear in both papers would be assessed. Paper-II of only such candidates who score sufficiently high marks in Paper-I

RBI Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) Exam Pattern 2025

In Paper I, there will be negative marking of 1/4th of the marks for every wrong answer. The Paper-II examination will be of one hour duration, carrying 50 marks to assess candidates’ ability to undertake translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa, and basic knowledge of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India. Both papers 1 and 2 will be conducted on the same day without any break.

RBI Assistant Manager (Protocol & Security) Exam Pattern 2025

There will be negative marking for every wrong answer. For every wrong answer, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. Question papers (except English language test) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.

RBI Grade A and B 2025 Syllabus

For Phase 1 Exam:

The RBI Grade B Phase 1 Exam consists of the following subjects. The General Awareness section includestopics  related to the Banking & Financial sector, Current Affairs of national and international importance, Acquisition & Mergers, etc.

Phase 2 exam is divided into 3 papers as shown in the exam pattern. The subjects that are included in the exam are:

  2. Finance and Management: Financial System, Financial Markets, Management, Ethics at the workplace, Accounts)
  3. English Descriptive (which involves essay and precis writing)

RBI Grade A and B 2025 Salary

The starting salary of an RBI Grade B officer is ₹55,200, which increases as candidates pass through various stages of the selection process. Apart from the basic pay, officers are entitled to several allowances, including special allowance, grade allowance, dearness allowance, and house rent allowance (HRA). Without HRA, the total monthly salary is around ₹1,22,717. Over 16 years, the salary can increase from ₹55,200 to ₹99,750. If the bank does not provide accommodation, officers will get an HRA of 15% of their basic pay.
