Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 1st September 2025)
  • Age relaxation:
    • SC/ST – 5 years
    • OBC – 3 years
    • PwBD – 10 to 15 years (depending on category)
    • Ph.D./M.Phil. holders – 2 to 4 years relaxation
    • Ex-servicemen & RBI staff – as per rules

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of:

  1. Phase I Online Examination
  2. Phase II Examination
  3. Interview Test

Exam Pattern

Candidates are required to clear all three phases to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in the Reserve Bank of India. The RBI Grade B exam is conducted in three phases: Phase I (Preliminary Exam), Phase II (Main Exam), and Phase III (Interview). Here's a detailed breakdown of the exam pattern:

Prelims Exam Pattern

The prelims exam of RBI Grade-B Officer 2025 comprises a single Paper for 200 marks. A total time of 120 minutes will be given for answering. However, separate time will be allotted for each test.

Note:

A total time of 120 minutes will be given for the prelim exam. However, separate time will be allotted for each test. Detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter for the RBI Grade B 2025 prelims exam.

Mains Exam Pattern

There are 3 papers for the Examination. Paper I Objective Type (on Statistics) and Papers II & III will be descriptive type.

RBI Grade B Officer Interview Process

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III of the Phase II exam. The interview process will carry 50 marks.

    Yes, candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as in aggregate.

    RBI Grade B Interview is considered challenging, and candidates must have a strong command of subject knowledge.

Salary Structure

RBI Grade B Officers will receive a pay scale of ₹78,450 – ₹1,41,600/-.

  • Starting basic pay: ₹78,450/-

  • Increment: ₹4,050/- annually for 9 years

  • Executive Band: ₹1,14,900/-

  • Final basic pay: ₹1,41,600/- (after 16 years, without promotion)

Allowances included: Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, etc.
