Vacancy Details, Age Limit, and Qualification

Age Limit: The age limit to apply for the SBI PO Vacancy 2026 is 21-30 years as on 01.04.2026 (Use Age Calculator). Candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2005 and not earlier than 02.04.1996 (both days inclusive). Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given as per the notification rules.

SBI PO 2026 Prelims Exam Pattern

The prelims exam pattern consists of 100 questions, and each question carries 1 mark. The total duration is 1 hour, and there is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer marked by the candidate.

Negative Marking SBI PO Prelims and Mains Exam

In both the SBI PO Prelims and Mains exams, negative marking applies to incorrect answers in the objective tests. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks (¼th of the marks assigned to the question) are deducted. However, there is no penalty for unanswered questions.

SBI PO 2026 Salary Structure

As per the notification, the starting basic pay of a Probationary Officer (PO) is Rs 48,480/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The approximate CTC at the initial scale of the Mumbai Centre is Rs. 21.97 Lacs.
